AnuRoop is a brand envisioned and initiated as an ode to our lead designer & founder, Rashmi’s parents - Anu & Roop!

Her parents introduced her to the fascinating world of fashion since childhood. Rashmi’s memories of trotting to textile shops as a kid with her mum Anu, are still fresh in her mind. Hopping from one shop to another it was a ritual for the mother-daughter duo to scout for the best possible prints amongst hundreds of shops and then visit another hundred to find the perfect color of dupatta to go with those prints.

She vividly remembers her visits to boutiques like one would remember a trip to the amusement park, growing up! She’d give detailed instructions on stitching the clothes with precise details of the design and the fit,even as a kid! Being very particular about the fit and the design, she would be found somewhere with the tailors even then, curiously enquiring about the machines and katrans and requesting the boutique aunty if she could take a few Katrans home. 

She states being awed every time she sees the embroidery frame (adda) and the handworkers spinning magic swiftly with their fingers. Her father, picking up the loudest cotton block print fabrics to get kurtas & shirts made and then carrying his outfits with finesse inspired her to be bold with her own styling & preferences in design, along the way.

Growing up with such influences, she realized she had developed a taste for Indian textiles & took the bold choice to venture into the world of fashion professionally after completing her graduation in chemical engineering from LIT, Nagpur. She is an alumnus of Pearl Academy, Delhi. Over the years, she has showcased & worked on her own designs and has been a consultant in the startup arena of fashion.

A self-proclaimed massive fashion enthusiast, Rashmi visualizes what she wants and then makes sure to bring it to life with the help of her skilled team! Each product from AnuRoop is curated and designed with the intention to make you feel comfortable and give you the confidence to stand out in a crowd.
